Dave Dempsey is the Scottish Conservative and Unionist councillors for Inverkeithing & Dalgety Bay and is a former leader of the Conservative Group on Fife Council.
I was born and grew up in Kirkcaldy and have lived in North Queensferry since 1987.
After a career in software engineering, I moved into local politics and have represented the Inverkeithing & Dalgety Bay Ward since 2007. For most of that time, led the Conservative Group on Fife Council and, over the last 10 years, I’ve chaired a number of the Council’s Committees, including, currently, the Standards, Audit & Risk Committee, the Pensions Committee and the Audit & Assurance Committee of the Health & Social Care Partnership Integration Joint Board (H&SCP IJB). I lead for the Group on matters relating to the H&SCP.
I find that being a full-time councillor and political activist takes up a great deal the time I have but I’m still able to spend a bit of time indulging in recreational maths, listening to music, solving Killer Sudokus and feeding a couple of demanding cats.
