Findlay’s eve-of-poll call to pro-UK voters to back Scottish Conservatives on peach ballot

Scottish Conservative leader Russell Findlay has issued an eve-of-poll call to pro-UK voters to back his party on their peach ballot paper at tomorrow’s Scottish Parliament election.

Findlay will be alongside candidates and activists in Edinburgh this morning, less than 24 hours before polling places open.

He says that the outcome of the election is on a “knife edge” and that the difference between John Swinney's SNP getting a majority or not could come down to a few hundred votes.

Findlay says the best way to stop an SNP majority and Swinney’s plans to instantly demand another referendum is to vote for the Scottish Conservatives on their peach ballot paper.

He added that voters deployed this method to stop an SNP majority in the 2016 and 2021 elections.

Scottish Conservative leader Russell Findlay said: “With less than 24 hours to go, the Scottish Parliament election is on a knife edge.

“Just a few hundred votes across Scotland could determine whether John Swinney and the SNP get a majority.

“Swinney would use a majority to demand an independence referendum from Sir Keir Starmer – the weakest Prime Minister in living memory.

“Pro-UK voters can prevent this nightmare scenario by backing the Scottish Conservatives on their peach-coloured ballot paper, wherever they live in Scotland.

“Voters deployed this secret weapon to stop an SNP majority in 2016 and 2021. On Thursday, they can do it again."
