Merry Christmas.
It’s hard to believe we’ve reached this time of year again. Celebrating with my two little ones, Alastair and James, adds an extra dose of magic.
For Krystle and me, Christmas at our house is one of the busiest but also one of the most exciting times of the year.
As all parents with young children know, experiencing the joy and wonder of the festive season through their eyes is truly heart-warming.
As a dad, sharing in their glee makes this season extra special and I can’t wait to watch the boys open their presents on Christmas morning.
But while many of us are lucky enough to spend the festive season with our family and friends, for others, Christmas time can be challenging and lonely.
To all of those who may be finding the holiday period particularly difficult here at home – and to all of those caught up in the tragic wars in Ukraine and the Middle East, or in conflicts across the globe – I send my thoughts and prayers.
And I want to thank the incredible men and women serving in our NHS, emergency services and armed forces who are giving up their Christmas to ensure our safety. Let their sacrifice and dedication serve as a reminder that the true magic of the festive period lies in the compassion and kindness of others.
