Postal ballots ‘pivotal’ to beating SNP in key seats

Voters are being urged to use their postal ballots to vote Scottish Conservative and beat the SNP in key seats up and down the country.

As postal ballots drop through letterboxes, chairman Craig Hoy will use a campaign visit to Angus and Perthshire Glens today (Wednesday) to call on pro-union voters to back the Scottish Conservatives in that seat, and others like it, where the election is a straight fight between his party and the SNP.

He will say that voters have the chance to turn a difficult night for the SNP into a disastrous one – and, in the process, end the Nationalists’ fixation with breaking up the UK and switch the focus on to the public’s real priorities.

Scottish Conservative chairman Craig Hoy said: “In key seats across Scotland, this election is a straight fight between the Scottish Conservatives and the SNP. Postal ballots could prove to be pivotal in beating the nationalists.

“Voters who are sick and tired of John Swinney’s party have a unique chance to end the SNP’s independence obsession for good, by uniting behind the Scottish Conservatives, who will instead focus on their priorities – such as fixing our ailing public services and creating good jobs.

“Together we can defeat the Nationalists and turn a difficult night for the SNP into a disastrous one.

“But we know the race is extremely tight between the Scottish Conservatives and the SNP in several seats, so it’s vital that pro-union voters back us to ensure the Nationalists are defeated.

“A vote for any other party in these battleground seats increases the chances of the SNP winning, so I’m urging those voting by post now, or in person on July 4, to back their Scottish Conservative candidate.”
