Voters in key seats up and down Scotland can help deliver a “terrible night” for the SNP in just one week’s time, Douglas Ross will say today.
The Scottish Conservative leader will be on the campaign trail in East Lothian this afternoon, as many constituencies remain on a knife-edge ahead of the vote on July 4th.
Douglas has urged voters in seats where it is a straight fight between his party and the nationalists to unite behind the Scottish Conservatives and help to end the SNP’s independence obsession for good.
He says a vote for any other party in those key seats – or not voting at all next Thursday – risks letting SNP MPs in “by the back door” who will only focus on their party’s obsession with independence, rather than people’s real priorities.
Scottish Conservative leader Douglas Ross said: “There is just one week left for voters up and down Scotland to ensure July 4th won’t just be a bad night for the SNP, but a terrible one.
“In key seats, if voters unite behind their local Scottish Conservative candidate, they can beat the SNP and help end their independence obsession for good.
“Next Thursday’s vote is too crucial an opportunity to waste to ensure the SNP are beaten across the country.
“They may be down but the nationalists are not out. Key constituencies remain on a knife-edge and every vote will matter.
“Voting for any other party in those seats – or not voting at all – risks letting a SNP MP in by the back door.
“Next week, use your vote to deliver Scottish Conservative MPs who will be fully focused on your real priorities, rather than a SNP MP who will only push for independence.”
